CHS assistant dean completes APTA Fellowship

Dr. Harsha Deoghare, Assistant Dean of Research and Chair of Department of Physical Therapy Education has successfully completed the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Fellowship in Education Leadership.

This award-winning Fellowship provides developing leaders in physical therapy education programs with skills and resources they need to be innovative, influential, and visionary leaders. Dr. Deoghare was one of only 18 fellows across the country to graduate from this highly competitive Fellowship program, which started in 2012. The fellowship is a 52-week curriculum delivered over a 13-month period. Dr. Deoghare is grateful for Dr. Dee Schilling, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, who served as his sponsor and institutional mentor for the Fellowship.

Dr. Deoghare’s leadership capstone project, titled ‘Curriculum Leadership: Integrating Leadership Framework and Strategies’ was unanimously selected by the eight fellowship mentors for presentation at the APTA 2021 Educational Leadership Meeting conference in the form of a Ted Talk presentation.
