Big turnout for WesternU Patient Care Center Open House

WesternU’s Patient Care Center (PCC) open house on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, drew more than 250 people from the community, who registered for screenings and received information from students, faculty and staff about the many health care services at the PCC.

The Eye Care Center offered vision screenings, frame styling by experts, prize raffles, a vendor fair, product samples, clinic tours and information sessions. The WesternU Pharmacy provided flu shots, travel medicine counseling, and osteoporosis and diabetes screenings. The Medical Center dispensed information about Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehab, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.

Additionally, the Foot & Ankle Center provided foot screenings, electronic foot pressure sensing, and a presentation on general foot health. The Western Diabetes Institute had educational information on diabetes and hypertension, as well as post-screening educational services, including arranging proper follow-up. The Dental Center shared information about its services.
