Different issues for the mayor
Mayor Norma Torres will speak at a luncheon Thursday at Western Universi^ of Health Sciences, but it won’t be to discuss city issues,
Instead, she’s expected to speak on students’ participation in legislation along with their involvement in matters that affect health-care providers. According to information from the university, those matters include bills related to security prescription pads for Medicare prescriptions and recognizing pharmacists as medication therapy management providers. ‘
The mayor’s also expected to speak on the reimbursement of pharmacists’ services.
The luncheon event, limited to students, faculty and alumni, is organized by the American Pharmacists Association and co-sponsored by the Western University Alumni Association, according to university information.
