Western University of Health Sciences Holds 2006 Commencement Ceremonies at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium

The 2006 graduating class of Western University of Health Sciences is

full of promise. Between the four colleges, Allied Health, COMP,

Graduate Nursing and Pharmacy, the university will send 424 highly

qualified and motivated new practitioners into the health professions.

Commencement ceremonies will be held over two days, May 11-12, at the

Pasadena Civic Auditorium and will bring between 7500 to 9000 visitors to

the Pasadena community.

On Thursday, May 11, 2006, 142 students will graduate from the College of

Allied Health Professions; 29 with a Doctor in Physical Therapy, 97 with

a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and 16 with a Master

of Science in Health Studies. In the same ceremony, the College of

Graduate Nursing will graduate 13 students with a Master of Science in

Nursing/FNP and one Family Nurse Practitioner.

Later that day (May 11), the commencement ceremony for the College of

Pharmacy will be held. 115 students will earn pharmacy degrees; 12 will

graduate with a Post-Baccalaureate Doctor of Pharmacy degree, 99 will

graduate as Doctors of Pharmacy and four students will earn a Master of

Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) will graduate

153 students with a Doctor in Osteopathic Medicine, on Friday, May 12.

Completion of this ceremony will give the College an excess of 3,000

(3,084 in total) physician graduates since opening in 1977.

The completion of these ceremonies will give the university a total of

5,712 graduates from four of the five colleges. The College of

Veterinary Medicine will celebrate its first commencement ceremony in

2007.

College of Allied Health Professions Thursday, May 11, 2006 – 9:30 a.m.

College of Graduate Nursing Thursday, May 11, 2006 – 9:30 a.m.

College of Pharmacy Thursday, May 11, 2006 – 2:00 p.m.

College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific

Friday, May 12, 2006 – 10:30 a.m.
