24th annual commencement to be held

Four colleges at WesternU will be conducting commencement

ceremonies. The ceremonies will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium

in Pasadena, on Thursday, May 12 and Friday May 13. The commencement

schedule is listed below. This is the 24th annual commencement for

WesternU.

College of Allied Health Professions and the College of Graduate Nursing

will have a combined ceremony on Thursday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. The

keynote speaker is Edward O’Neil, M.P.A., Ph.D., professor of Family and

Community Medicine and Dental Public Health at the University of

California, San Francisco.

College of Pharmacy ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 2 p.m.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Byron Schweigert, CEO of Long Beach Memorial

Medical Center.

College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) ceremony will be

held on Friday, May 13 at 1:30 p.m. The keynote speaker will be retired

Rear Admiral Clint Adams, dean of the college.

A total of 417 students are graduating. The university is granting nine

different degrees from its four colleges. The degrees are:

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Doctor of Pharmacy

Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Master of Science in Health Sciences/Health Professions Education

Master of Science on Physician Assistant Studies

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate

Master of Science in Nursing

Master of Science in Nursing/ Family Nurse Practitioner
