The 7th annual Faculty & Staff Luncheon & Silent Auction raised more than $4,500 for Western University of Health Sciences’ University Scholarship Fund.

WesternU’s Office of University Advancement presented the "Summer in the City" event July 18, 2014 with activities that included a cupcake contest, Dr. Ben Cohen Nok-Hockey Tournament, inflatable basketball hoop contest, human foosball tournament, silent auction, and a delicious taco lunch sponsored by Cardenas Markets.

The University Advancement Avengers beat Rebels Without a Cause to claim the human foosball tournament.

John Gutzwiller, DoubleTree Claremont; Anica McKesey, Liberty Mutual; and Shanethia Ealy, Campus Living Villages, judged the cupcake contest.

Cupcake contest winners were Anna Wilton (College of Veterinary Medicine) for best taste, Linda Frenza (Financial Aid) for best decoration, and Peggy Schmidt, DVM (College of Veterinary Medicine) for best presentation. Congratulations and thank you for participating.

More than 45 baskets and gifts were donated for the silent auction. Gift baskets were comprised from generous donations from WesternU Colleges, departments, and supportive local businesses.

The silent auction featured several exciting items to bid on, including Chivas USA tickets, Sunday brunch for four at the historic Hotel Del Coronado, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tickets, tickets to the LA Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, and more.

WesternU Senior Vice President Thomas Fox, PhD, defended his title for a fourth time as champion of the Nok-Hockey Tournament.

University Advancement thanks everyone for their participation and for helping to raise money for scholarships. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
